This is our vision:
Building Christ’s Kingdom by equipping students to be wise, virtuous, and eloquent self-learners through a biblically based and academically excellent education toward the end of knowing and serving our Lord Jesus Christ.

Statement of Faith
The Loudoun Classical School Statement of Faith defines the essential, Biblical doctrines that inform and guide the ministry of this school. LCS teaches these doctrines in various ways throughout all grade levels.
The Collegiate Model
We aim to equip lifelong learners. Education isn’t just about cramming for the test; it’s about building habits and disciplines for flourishing across a lifetime. That’s where the collegiate model at LCS comes in!
What is classical education?
Christian Classical Education is the time-honored method to form flourishing, faithful, steadfast human beings through personal engagement with the greatest minds of our tradition through the classic works they handed down to us.
-
By engaging authors across the ages, students are taught to think clearly and speak eloquently. Perhaps more importantly, they are freed from being “enslaved to a fairly recent past” in their understanding.
Many of the most influential people in history, including our own founding fathers, were classically educated. The classical tradition brought unimagined liberty and justice in its wake; while it has done so imperfectly, it gave those trained by it the eyes to see – and hearts to address – the needed remedies.
Yet this time-proven tradition, stretching from ancient Greece through the medieval era and into the early modern era, was cast aside by the juggernaut of progressive education, ushering in a predictable decline in literacy and liberty.
The recovery of Christian classical education is a bright beacon of hope for today’s families and their students.
Is LCS the school for you and your children?
School Culture
Loudoun Classical School began with the commitment of a handful of local educators and leaders to provide families in our community with an excellent and affordable Christian classical education.
The doors opened August 26th, 2019, with a team of skilled and sacrificial teachers, a community of committed parents, and twenty-six nervous but excited junior high and high school students.
What we did not know was that in the first year, we would deal with a location change capped off by a global pandemic.
Our Story
The first class of 2019!
Who in the world would decide to open a school the year that the world closed down? In God’s good providence, and with our founding Headmaster’s excellent guidance, LCS was able to pivot to online learning with barely a hiccup for the final six weeks of our inaugural year.
By God’s grace, the doors at LCS re-opened for in-person learning in August of 2020, while most schools across the country had to continue with online school.
The Lord has been pleased to prosper LCS, even as we experienced some unexpected, but not at all unusual, road bumps in our first few years.
An LCS student studying from home
We opened up to sixth grade students in 2021, offering full service for middle and high school students in our community.
Our first full-time Headmaster, Mr. Trey Hammond, came on board in June of 2022.
LCS is bountifully blessed with outstanding faculty and staff, a hardworking board of directors, an active Parent Teacher Organization, and gracious donors.
At the beginning of our sixth year, we have moved into our long-term home at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Celebrating family on Grandparents’ Day
Looking back, we clearly see the gracious hand of God guiding, directing, providing, and blessing us beyond anything we could have imagined.
Our work at LCS is in so many ways beyond our strength and striving, and yet we know that we can rest in His providence.
Thank you for your generous support in this important work!
